LAW 103-Constitutional Law I

How the general principles and basic concepts of the constitutional law are interpreted and constituted is discussed in accordance with the varied Constitutional practice. In this course, the learners comprehension and assessment of the subject is provided by means of emphasizing the definition and preferences, after the construction process of constitutional texts and the mutual effect between the texts and political powers is presented, the coordination between structures exposed is examined and how the democratic principles and structures are concretized in the constitutional texts with the system of fundamental rights and freedoms are discussed.

LAW 104-Constitutional Law II

How the principles and basic concepts of the Constitutional Law are concretized in the Ottoman-Turkish constitutional practice within the process of Turkish-Ottoman constitutional progress is analyzed. In this course the Ottoman-Turkish Constitutional developments are assessed in accordance with the basic concepts of Constitutional Law and the basic characteristics of the 1982 Turkish Constitution, the States organization, the methods of the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms and the Constitutional amendments are discussed.

Objective of this course is to focus on the basic principles, nature, and sources of law, concepts of justice and equity. LAW 204-Criminal Law General Provisions II

The aim of this course is to draw attention to special configuration of crimes on the basis of learning outcomes and subordinate skills of Criminal Law General Provisions I course. The other aim is to draw attention to the theory of sanction and aim of punishment and to lead learners to understand the nature of the punishment, the types of punishment and the principles of determination of punishment, concepts of death, amnesty, pertaining criminal proceedings, limitation periods in pertaining penalties, in confiscation and of the execution period of the crimes by discussion. In this course crimes against person and property are also analyzed on the basis of general provisions of criminal law.

The purpose of this course is to enable learners to think about the basic concepts and questions of the philosophy of law, as well as to become able to distinguish between various kinds of norms, to become aware of ethical problems in law and to see what should be the foundation of law. For this purpose the course will focus on the concept of norm and kinds of norms, ethics and relation between law and ethics, related views of J. Austin, H.L.A. Hart and  R.
